South Manchester’s Bladder & Bowel Service supporting Prevent Breast Cancer

Congratulations to our amazing South Manchester’s Bladder & Bowel Service who raised £600 during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Organised by Bladder & Bowel Senior Specialist Nurse Jennie Potter, the team raised money by hiking, running, walking and riding 585 miles to raise funds for the charity Prevent Breast Cancer during POPtober (Power of Prevent). POPtober challenges individuals and teams to cover 90 km or miles by walking, swimming, running or riding.

The team said “We are thrilled to have raised a great amount for such a worthy charity here in Manchester and on our very doorstep at Wythenshawe hospital. We are so lucky to have dedicated professionals in the Nightingale Centre working so hard to prevent breast cancer, for our futures. We aimed for £300 but smashed our target and raised £600. We raised lots of awareness along the way, with the extra bonus of getting fit! Thank you to those that sponsored us. Here’s to a breast cancer free future!”

Well done to all the South Manchester Bladder & Bowel Team; Sue, Jennie, Ashley, Alex, Kereene, Lenny, Claudia, Georgia and Sharon!
