The Friends of Smedley Park group – have been really busy working with the local community this summer. They’re helping to transform Smedley Park with lots of  flowers, a nature area, den building area, orienteering course, treasure hunt and a new seating area.

After receiving feedback about the park from residents whilst handing out leaflets in Smedley Park – June Kelly (project coordinator for Abraham Moss Warriors) was able to access funding from the NIF’s ‘Cheetham in Bloom’ and Street Games. That’s allowed them to work to transform the park.

There was a fantastic community response as local councillors, charities, businesses and residents all got involved with the project on a hot summer’s weekend.
