SPoA – Urgent Care Clinical Hub
SPoA – Urgent Care Clinical Hub
0333 038 9993 – Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 18:00
In November we launched our expanded Single Point of Access (SPoA). NWAS, NHS community teams, GPs and other primary care clinicians are able to call the single telephone number for clinical triage for adult patients by a hospital acute consultant or senior LCO clinician.
This service allows colleagues to contact us directly, ensuring that patients who might have otherwise gone to an emergency department are directed to the appropriate service. Callers can discuss the case with experienced medical and AHP staff who will either arrange admission to hospital, or handle onward referral to appropriate services, such as:
- Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)
- Urgent Treatment Centre
- Crisis Response
- Hospital at Home
The hub aims to simplify access to hospital and community urgent care services and clinical advice, allowing direct referrals without additional triage.
The phone number 0333 038 9993 is active Monday to Friday 10:00 & 18:00 – press option 2 – ”Another healthcare professional” – and select Manchester or Trafford.
Included patients: Patients aged 18+ within the Manchester & Trafford footprint where the clinical decision is that the patient requires escalation and is at risk of admission.
Excluded patients: Under 18’s, Category 1 calls, specialist pathways (major trauma, CVA, PPCI etc), fractures & suspected fractures, Mental Health, maternity/early pregnancy and patients registered outside of Manchester and Trafford.
