Tissue Viability Service

The Tissue Viability/Infection Control service is available to offer support and advice to patients, carers and health care professionals on complex wound management and techniques.

We are an advisory service and go into homes and clinics where patients are already under a care provider such as District Nurses, Community Nurses, Treatment rooms or Nursing/Care homes and give our specialist input.

  • Any age
  • Registered with a Manchester GP
  • Any patient who requires input with a complex wound/ IPC need who is under an MFT health care provider

We provide specialist advice relating to Infection Prevention Control / TV. All referrals are triaged and will be seen or advice given dependant on need. We will always discuss & explain treatment aims & goals with patient and other staff involved in care.

Patients do not self-refer. Referrals to the service can be made by community teams such as Crisis Response as well as District Nurses and GPs. Please find a referral form below.
